MANALI

Same afternoon at about 3pm we reached Solang. Took the bus to Manali, checked out in a hotel, which had 2 beds in one room and 1 in another. Obviously the other room with one bed and a door was for Shubhodip, so he could sleep as loudly as he wants. We got fresh and went out to the Markets of Manali. Dr. Mondal was desperately looking for a pretty Tibetan girl, so that he could marry her, but to his unfortunate luck, he dint find any!!! Shubhodip was looking for a particular type of a sweater for his sister, which he couldn’t find in the whole of Manali and ended up buying something different the next day. Me, I just bought a survival knife. All of a sudden it started raining hail. We ran to Chopsticks.. Enjoyed a nice hot lemon ginger honey tea, followed by Manchow soup.. Then the Trout fish ..followed by some Chopsticks special rice and some non-veg gravy. Got back to hotel and went off to wonderful sleep.

Next morning, we brushed our teeth.. Got fresh and once again headed to Chopsticks .. Started of with a nice hot lemon ginger honey tea, pan-cakes, gyakok and momos. Went out to explore the old Manali on foot and the monastery in Manali. Headed back to the hotel packed up and returned for a heavy lunch…where? Of-course back to Chopsticks again.

On reaching to the bus stand in the evening, we were surprised to look at the view of Patalsu. We paid the final tribute to the peak, boarded the bus and reached Delhi I.S.B.T at 7am. Took the metro back to Gurgaon. Had to attend the Darn office the same day. All of a sudden Dr. Mondal got a call from his boss in New zeland. Apparently he had to take the flight back to Papua New Guinea same night. So he rushed to airport and I spent rest of the day bored in OFFICE.

Oh by the way, if one loves sking, Patalsu peak provies an ideal sking destination. While surfing the net i came across a wonderful blog, again related to Patalsu, but in a totally different season.. the Sking Season. Heres the link: http://www.boston.com/travel/explorene/specials/ski/blog/2010/03/trip_report_pat.html

hope it provides a good and a inspiring link to the Skiers!!

Anyways, I would conclude on that note. Happy trekking mates!!
